Steins Gate I can't say with full confidence to watch it over the source material, but it does do its job well and I would say to watch it if you weren't planning on reading it.Īnyway not sure if you guys agree, I know a few people still preferred the visual novel but yeah. Though it looks like Unlimited Blade Works might be another one of those (at least over reading the unlimited blade works route). While Steins Gate I did feel like maybe they rushed a few parts of it a bit too much, Kanon I had no such problem with but maybe that's just me.Īnyway it's probably the only visual novel where I would actually say to just watch the anime over actually reading it. And quite honestly, I like the friendship put on display between the multiple girls that was lacking in the game. Scenes are directed with care, no girl's route was left out or felt too rushed. Though also, it's just a really great adaption. I can't say he gave off much impression in the original game (he was ok), but through the anime, he actually became my favorite key protagonist. Another factor is Yuichi is voiced, and voiced by Sugita no less which makes him rediculously more likable and funny. Part of this might be due to the low production values of the original though. Now granted I'm not saying its better in every single way, but I do think its more enjoyable than the original visual novel.
